We believe that a research-driven enterprise dedicated to world-class science can succeed by inventing medicine and vaccine innovations that make a difference for patients across the globe.

The Discovery Bioanalytics team within Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Drug Metabolism (PPDM) Department in West Point, Pennsylvania has an opening for a talented scientist in the field of biological mass spectrometry with an emphasis on LC/MS quantification of proteins. The incumbent will join a dynamic and well-equipped bioanalytical group supporting the early stage of drug discovery. This role will be primarily responsible for developing LC/MS based methods and strategies and performing quantitative analysis of therapeutic and endogenous proteins and peptides to support pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic studies. The ideal candidate should be a self-driven and creative thinker that wants to develop and implement innovative bioanalytical approaches using the latest technology in support of our Company's pipeline dedicated to developing novel therapeutic agents.

Responsibilities:

Independently design and execute quantitative methods for biological drug candidates and candidate biomarkers using LC-MS based platforms including triple quadrupole (QQQ) and high resolution (HRMS) mass spectrometers, specifically:Develop sample preparation methods ranging from protein precipitation (PP) and solid phase extraction (SPE) to immunoaffinity enrichment with automated platforms such as Bravo AssayMAP and Hamilton liquid handlers.Achieve desired assay performance and throughput with appropriate LC-MS platforms; optimize parameters on various triple-quadrupole and high-resolution mass spectrometers coupled with either normal flow or micro/nano-flow chromatography.Analyze data and interpret results with a variety of software such as Analyst, MassLynx, Xcalibur, MassHunter, Watson, and Skyline.Represent the Bioanalytics function in collaborations with cross-functional teams; deliver high quality quantitative or qualitative data to project teams for PK and PK/PD analysis.Effectively document, track and communicate scientific findings and recommendations within cross-functional teams.Help with maintaining bioanalytical lab operations
