Associate Scientist III


Position Summary


Catalent Cell and Gene Therapy is looking to recruit an Associate Scientist III to join our growing team in Baltimore, MD.


The Associate Scientist III is actively engaged in a product development within a dynamic project team. Displays strong technical knowledge, initiative and scientific commitment, and makes significant scientific and technical contributions within Drug Development (Pre-Clinical Development, Process Development, Analytical Development, Formulation) Group as well as their project teams.

The Role


Knowledge/expertise should be practical and focused pertaining to lab-related activities. Examples might include: VLP vaccines, Viral Vector based gene therapies and Nanotechnologies, Antigen based vaccines (Including conjugated vaccines), Protein biochemistry (protein folding, protein degradation, aggregation, ), HPLC, UPLC, CE, EM, DLS assay development etc Analytical development of in process assay and release assays, and assay qualification Interacting with appropriate upstream and downstream functional areas (cell culture, purification, clinical, regulatory, marketing, etc). Helping to map out activities/timing required from pre-clinical through technology transfer to cGMP manufacturing. Expected to review, give constructive criticism, and question the science within Drug Development (Analytical, Process Development, Formulation) Group. Designs, executes, interprets and reports results on their work with minimum overview from their supervisor.

The Candidate


M.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences or related field, with 2-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or academia. B.S. with extended experience will be considered The ability to work in team oriented environment is essential, as this person will work closely with other members of Drug Development Group and participate on multidisciplinary project teams.
