Women in Nano

Women have contributed to science from its earliest days; however, in large part they have received little or no approbation for their contributions during their lifetimes. Historians with an interest in gender and science have illuminated the contributions women have made, the barriers they have faced, and the strategies implemented to have their work accepted.

There are numerous women in nanotechnology research. This community provides a gathering to support the presence of women in the nano world.

Through the Committee on the Status of Women in Nanotechnology (CSWN), the Society is committed to encouraging the recruitment, retention, and career development of women scientists committed to nanotechnology at all levels.
