ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design opto-mechanical and mechanical products and parts. Apply principles of mechanics, materials, and optics. Assemble, align, and test complex electro-optical systems. Assist support, service, and manufacturing team members in learning new features/products as well as identify, troubleshoot, and correct any defects. Fabricate prototypes utilizing equipment such as mills, lathes, and 3D printers. Research and identify customer issues.
ADDED CONSIDERATION:
Experience in high precision instrumentation used in metrology, physics, chemistry, neuroscience, or microbiology. Domain knowledge of Fluorescence Microscopy. Proficient with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD Inventor software Strong knowledge of physics, optics, electronics, & materials.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or a Master’s degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, physics or equivalent.
Knowledge or experience in microscopy, physics, chemistry, or microbiology considered a plus. Should be hard working, team oriented, bright, creative, cooperative, and exceptionally good at problem solving.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
