How you will make an impact:


The Omics vertical marketing team at the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry is looking for a talented, collaborative, and motivated Sr. Manager to lead our Proteomics team. The major responsibility will be leading the go to market strategy for the commercialization of new life science technologies in the proteomics market.


The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in LC-MS based proteomics techniques, method development, validation, and quantification together with established expertise in protein bioinformatics. In addition, a demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit for the continual evaluation of market trends, external drivers, and competitive landscape to help the creation of opportunities for continued growth and revenue sustainability. The candidate will work closely with R&D, Product Management, and Product Marketing groups and be expected to collaborate extensively with our wide network of internal and external collaborators. The successful candidate will be expected to make substantial intellectual and technical contributions, and drive the creation of value propositions and competitive differentiated positioning for key Thermo Scientific products/workflows, while working effectively in a highly matrixed team setting.


What you will do:


Recruit, mentor, supervise and lead a group of application scientists working on innovative science Design and execute experiments that translate instrument performance capabilities into scientifically meaningful data and results to demonstrate product value in collaboration with application scientist. Provide technical input in designing and executing proteomics experiments to team members, collaborators and customers. Work closely with Business partners and across the Thermo Scientific organization. Assign work, provide feedback and coaching, shifting priorities and resources, as needed. Oversee design and execution of proteomics projects, drive collaborations according to timelines, and champion resource needs. Own new products/solutions outbound launches and contribute to the go to market strategy.

How you will get here:


Education/Experience:


Ph.D and post-doctoral experience in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or similar Life Science plus a minimum of +8-years of experience in mass spectrometry instrumentation and projects involving post-translational modifications, biomarker discovery and multiplexed target protein assays. Strong analytical and practical skills in protein sample preparation, nano-flow LC-MS, and data analysis and interpretation Proven experience developing end to end workflows in proteomics

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


Excellent communication skills in oral and written English Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry, preferably Orbitrap type instruments, in-depth knowledge of instrument operation and maintenance, data interpretation, and knowledge of background literature will be a plus Extensive knowledge of the Proteomics market, trends and segments Clear thinker with the ability to translate market knowledge into impactful and differentiating value propositions, aligned to target customer personas. Willingness to travel up to 30% internationally.
