How you will make an impact:


We are looking for a versatile, motivated, mission-aligned Sr. Research Associate with mass spectrometry based proteomics background to join our Proteomics team. The ideal candidate will become a key team member expected to collaborate and support the other members of the team. The ideal candidate should be familiar regarding proteomics workflows, which includes sample preparation, LC-MS and data analysis steps.


The candidate will have a leading role managing and maintaining LCMS instrumentation, day to day laboratory operations and coordinating with scientist the experiments in the lab. And will become an expert troubleshooting our premium LCMS platforms. In addition, the candidate is expected to assist team members developing and optimize prototypes and workflows as part of our new product introductions. Candidates must have strong background in sample preparation in proteomics, LC-MS, strong analytical skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and a proven track record of mass spectrometry based proteomics in industrial settings.


The Sr. Research Associate also provides the opportunity to learn through internal and external training as well as interact with customers through customer support interactions. The candidate will also have the opportunity to liaise with product, and application marketing peers for creation of marketing and sales collateral to support programs and drive campaigns.


What you will do:


Day-to-day operation and support of LC-MS systems in the lab Design and execute experiments that translate instrument performance capabilities into scientifically meaningful data and results to demonstrate product value in collaboration with application scientist. Carry out and interpret analytical experiments as part of broader multidisciplinary research projects. Assist team members in efforts to develop and optimize prototypes. Utilize a variety of analytical and biochemical experimental techniques to solve problems. Participate in team discussions, read relevant literature and compose experimental reports. Learn and apply new techniques and analytical methods. Develop greater independence and responsibility. Be able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.

How will you get here:


Education/Experience:


BS or MSc. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or similar Life Science plus a minimum of +5-years of experience in mass spectrometry instrumentation and projects involving post-translational modifications, biomarker discovery and multiplexed target protein assays. Strong analytical and practical skills in protein sample preparation, nano-flow LC-MS, and data analysis and interpretation Proven experience developing end to end workflows in proteomics

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


Excellent communication skills in oral and written English Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry, preferably Orbitrap type instruments, in-depth knowledge of instrument operation and maintenance, data interpretation, and knowledge of background literature will be a plus Ability to pick up new technologies quickly and ultimately troubleshoot independently Ability to keep clear, organized and timely records and data summaries. An understanding of statistical analysis. Programming knowledge is a plus. Ability to work under time pressure. Wanting to learn in depth proteomics and LCMS instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
