Scientist, DTMP/ Lead Evaluation and Cellular Pharmacology – La Jolla, CA

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our La Jolla, CA, team and be a part of Lead Evaluation and Cellular Pharmacology department. The desired candidate should have scientific knowledge of immunology and / or neurosciences and updated and hands-on experience in standard biological assays. The primary responsibilities will include validation of various in vitro cellular assays, and execution of such assays in medium- to high-throughput fashion in support of internal drug discovery programs. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for data analysis, troubleshooting and data report generation, and will ensure data quality and integrity. Through these activities this position will contribute to cross-functional teams in our La Jolla site. People management, including mentoring and managing research associate, is high desirable.



Qualifications
Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology, Immunology, neuroscience, or related field is required Postdoctoral training in the field of immunology or neuroscience is preferred Solid understanding of GPCR and/or ion channels is required Hands-on experience with cell-based readouts is required. (Examples may include multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine quantification, MSD, Protein Simple, nano_BRET, HTRF, imaging, or Alpha Elisa) Solid understanding of assay validation considerations and ability to independently establish screening assays are required Proven data analytical and problem-solving skills and proficiency with standard scientific software used for data analysis are required Knowledge of high throughput screening and automation is preferred Hands-on experience with primary immune cell isolation, expansion, co-culture and functional assays is preferred Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of experimental records and a track record of peer-reviewed publications are required Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to present to multidisciplinary teams is required Flexibility and resourcefulness in a fast-advancing environment is required This position is located in San Diego, CA (La Jolla area) and may require approximately 10% travel.
