Engineering TD Manager

Job Description


Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) supports root cause analysis through physical FA on reliability fails on Intel's latest technology node for process certification as well as product qualification. We are part of Corporate Quality Network (CQN) Labs. We work in a state-of-the-art Failure Analysis (FA) lab equipped with several dual-beam tools, PFIBs, Scanning Electron Microscopes, and other de-processing and imaging tools.


PFA is responsible for all physical FA that also includes sample prep. We support sample prep for TEM imaging, nano-probing, and fault isolation. PFA team is a good mix of experienced PFA techs and engineers working in shifts, providing 24x7 support. We have an opening for an Engineering Technology Development (TD) Manager. The Manager will initially be expected to focus on TEM prep training of new hires, TEM prep logistics and operations, TEM prep development, and automation strategy with a possible increase in scope in time.



Other
responsibilities include, but are not limited to



Manage PFA technician workforce that operates in four shifts for 24x7 support. Ensure an inclusive work environment, employee development, and management performance. TEM prep output, throughput time, and quality. Solve complex technical problems and train new hires. Identify and analyze problems and plan tasks to reach solutions. Develop new best-known methods (BKMs) to improve TEM lamellae prep quality, throughput time or to enable lamellae prep on new Intel technologies. Support FA lab operations and tools. Collaborate with PFA techs, FAEs, FIEs, and Probing engineers to develop new techniques as needed. Collaborate with FA/ TEM customers for root cause analysis. Plan and schedule daily tasks. Use of judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.

Qualifications



Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Minimum Qualifications:


Master's degree in Mats Science, Physics, Chemistry or similar fields with 5+ years of experience in Semiconductor Field and Electron microscopes.

Preferred Qualifications:


Managerial or leading teams experience. 6+ years of hands-on experience with FIB-based TEM lamellae preparation. Experience with TEM prep automation will be a plus.
