Location/Division Specific Information


Materials and Structural Analysis Division designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets, the worldwide team is dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.


How will you make an impact?


The Mechanical Engineer will be working in R&D Engineering group in Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) business unit at Fremont, CA. The group is responsible for developing advanced integrated circuits analysis and circuit editing tools to meet the demands and challenges of advanced processing of semiconductor integrated circuits that lie at the core of the Hi-Tech world.


What will you do?


Lead the mechanical design tasks of developing advanced integrated circuits analysis and circuit editing tools with nanometer resolution by working closely with Project Management, Marketing, Operations, cross-functional engineering and scientific teams of diverse backgrounds.


Develop project specifications with team members from other engineering disciplines Create concepts, layouts, and detailed designs Lead and participate in design reviews Meet cost, schedule and quality requirements Hands-on subsystems integration, validation, and troubleshooting Responsible for documentations and other NPI activities, support module and product transitions into production Act as a subject matter expert for precision mechanical systems, providing key technical feedback and decision making

How will you get here?


Education/Experience


MS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics 6+ years of experience in the role with 3+ years in R&D; design of semiconductor capital equipment would be an advantage Prior experience in high vacuum, charged particle and motion systems development is highly desirable Experience in tolerance stack analysis, materials selection, vibration/ thermal/stress analysis and automation

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


Detail design, including a strong familiarity with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, internal and external standards, GD&T, and design for manufacturability Expert level NX and PDM systems, TeamCenter would be an advantage Creative problem solver and resourceful Self-motivated, organized, customer focused and enjoys challenges
