A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering. Candidates are sought for a strong active research program in mitochondrial cell electrophyisology and nanoelectronic and nanooptics probes. Qualifcations include cell culture and biology experimental experience, optical micrsoscopy (preferably sub-wavelenght imaging, confocal) experience. Additional qualifications desired are scanned probe microscopy and nanoelectronics. This is a highly interdisciplinary group focused and pushing the boundaries of cell metabolism and electrophysiology at the nanoscale using the most advanced technological tools and inventing new technologies. Candidates will gain experience in a thriving environment that combines Airy scan microscopy, nano-electronics, and mitochondrial biology. Successful candidates will have a strong publication record, will be expected to work within an inter-disciplinary and multi-institutional team, and will have the opportunity to interact with industry and/or policy partners. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience: from $54,540 to $65,292.00. Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree, at the time of hire, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university.
