Finance Manager/ Controller

Responsibilities: New opportunity based in Fitchburg, Wisconsin (remote until the office re-opens) for a Finance Manager/ Controller to serve as a Business Partner with FP&A and Accounting responsibility for the Bruker Force Modulation Microscopy (FM-M) Business Unit and provide insights and guidance for bioscience product lines. Will ensure reporting deadlines are met and adhere to Bruker policies; provide value added information, reporting, and independent analysis; along with identifying and implementing process and reporting improvements. Also responsible for consolidation and finance reporting for the Bruker Nano Surfaces Metrology (BNSM) Division.
Business Partnership:
Partner with the Business Unit General Manager and management team to provide strong financial support, guidance, and leadership across the organization Collaborate with functional leaders to provide financial information, support operational improvements and establishing strong financial controls and discipline Support the new product development cycle and provide the needed guidance across the end-to-end process to ensure financial goals and objectives are met. Actively participate in the strategy planning to make sure division and company’s targets are met.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Manage the core financial processes of monthly close, forecast update and prepare deliverables to management and corporate Extensive involvement in strategy plan and budgeting with bottoms-up P&L’s and balance sheet items. Includes detail bookings, revenue, material cost, headcount, and spending scenario analysis. KPI’s of engineering projects. Analyze material costs, gross margins and cost center spending. Build advanced financial models to support strategic planning, budgeting and to track and forecast financial performance. Assess financial processes, identify improvement opportunities and lead the improvement efforts Create an efficient and effective management reporting environment and provide value added insights to management Perform ad hoc financial analysis and participate on team projects as needed Active participation in the FP&A activities for the BNSM division.
Inventory and Cost Accounting
: Lead cost accounting and inventory management utilizing ERP functionality. Drive cost reductions and inventory turns improvements. Work with FM-M personnel on internal controls implementation and improving inventory accuracy.
Revenue Reporting:
Lead weekly revenue meeting and planning to achieve forecasted results. Analyze revenue recognition issues and non-standard T&C requests.
Support the world-wide finance structure with timely decisions and follow-up for FM-M business. Participate in special projects including analysis of complementary bioscience opportunities. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications: Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum 5 years recent Accounting Manager or Controller level work experience. Extensive work experience in a manufacturing environment with global customers Strong financial analysis skills with thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures. SAP experience, deep knowledge of ERP and financial systems, and the flow of data through the general ledger. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, computer, analytical, and technical communication organizational, and presentation skills, including SAP, advanced MS Office proficiency, and fluent English. Viewed as a trusted advisor and business partner with sound judgment and advanced decision making ability based on facts and appropriate levels of risk Demonstrated ability to work on cross functional teams within a large and diverse multi-national organization. Self-starter with history of successful achievement, ability to set and accomplish tasks with tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple deliverables, and work effectively in differing time zones with all levels of the organization to achieve results and implement continuous improvement Possesses behavioral attributes such as teamwork, customer-orientation, tactful communication, leading and developing people, strategic and results orientation, embraces change and innovation U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required. Maintenance of a valid passport with flexibility for global travel. May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
