Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Cellular Biophysics
The Biophysics Research Program at the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral position in our Laboratory of Cellular Biophysics (the Männik Lab). The work focuses on a how bacterial nucleoid and cell division apparatus are organized.
This interdisciplinary NIH funded research combines high and super resolution microscopy, quantitative image analysis, molecular biology methods and modelling of cellular processes. An important aspect of our work is development of nano/microfabricated fluidic devices for live cell studies that allow implementation of different physical and chemical stimuli to the cells. Fabrication of these devices will be carried out in nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the successful applicant will participate in this work. Previous experience in high resolution microscopy, quantitative image analysis and microfluidics is desired.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant should have a PhD in biophysics or in a related field. The position is also open to Ph.D. students who will receive their degree by January, 2022.
