Materials Research Scientist - Nano-Magnetics

BAE Systems is seeking a Materials Research Scientist/Engineer to join the Materials and Manufacturing Processes (M&MP) group. The primary responsibilities of this individual contributor position include support for development of advanced microwave passive devices based on acoustic waves and magnetostatic waves with emphasis on multi-physics modeling, related new microfabrication process developments, and related material studies (e.g. ferroelectric, ferri/ferromagnetic materials);

Ideal candidates will be highly innovative, and have in-depth physics and materials background and be familiar with microfabrication processes and measurement techniques. Candidates should also have a working understanding of microwave circuits, measurements, and applications. Capture duties include working with senior capture team leaders in preparing technical briefings, oral customer briefings, strategy planning, ability to engage and develop customer interest, and proposal development. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must and experience in preparing highly technical briefs for DARPA and ONR customers is required.

Materials Research Engineer for M&MP will work with the Senior PIs to develop CRAD program execution skills. This typically involves establishing CRAD program plans and budgets, technical leadership of multi-disciplinary teams of RF circuit and mechanical designers, preparing monthly and quarterly technical customer briefings, managing to schedule and cost constraints. Working with external subcontractors.

Mentoring - Work with a Senior Principal Investigator(s) to advance overall technical skills and advanced R&D expertise in the forefront of Advanced Microelectronics.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Material Engineering; or equivalent field and 4+ years related experience or a PhD and 2 years of experience, or 4 years and a BS

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Material Science and Engineering.
