Location/Division Specific Information Materials and Structural Analysis Division designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets, the worldwide team is dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges. How will you make an impact? The Systems Engineer will be working in R&D Engineering group in Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) business unit at Fremont, CA. The group is responsible for developing advanced integrated circuits analysis and circuit editing tools to meet the demands and challenges of advanced processing of semiconductor integrated circuits that lie at the core of the Hi-Tech world. What will you do? The primary goal of the Systems Engineer is to develop and test analytical technologies to push the envelope for defect localization and microscopy technologies.
Works with cross-functional engineers to develop product prototypes and test those
Interfaces effectively with multidisciplinary engineering colleagues to ensure that product requirements are properly understood and implemented in the prototype according to the specifications
Lead subsystems integration, validation, and troubleshooting
Investigates applications of existing technologies in other domains; works with applications engineers and marketing to understand unmet needs and requirements in those domains.
Supports operations and applications team to resolve customer issues
Conducts proof-of-concept studies and reports findings to the team
How will you get here? Education and Experience:
MS in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant disciplines with 0-3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's Degree in related disciplines above and 3- 8 years' relevant experience
Conversant in semiconductor IC process technology and nano-fabrication
Hands-on expert in design, setup and execution of experiments including optics, electronics, mechanical motion systems, vacuum systems
Knowledgeable in one or more of the following technologies: FIB, SEM and NIR imaging
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Familiar with CAD design packages – NX, solidworks
Creative problem solver and resourceful.
