Instructor, Cancer Biology

Recruiting for a post-doctoral fellow with at least four years of research experience with deep expertise in the field of exosome research, including nanoparticle tracking analyses, nano-flow cytometry, exosomes isolation by ultracentrifugation and other methods, immunoprecipitation, microscopy, miRNA analyses, proteomics etc. Additional expertise in the field of stem cell biology will be advantageous. In this position, the individual has to train and supervise several other junior reseachers on a regular basis. S/he will work closely with the PI on manuscript writing and all aspects of grant submissions.

JOB SUMMARY:
Teaching appointment with an expectation for scholarly accomplishment in the discipline area of medicine. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Provides intellectual leadership and offers independent study opportunities and mentoring to students

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree
Teaching experience preferred

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:
Certification and licenses as required by department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. CLINICAL (if applicable to this position): Appointment with an expectation for developing and preparing students at the professional doctoral level, masters level, and baccalaureate level as clinicians and educators, with significant responsibility toward both. Position is engaged almost entirely in clinical practice and teaching, though scholarship and university service is expected. Most scholarship activities are expected to contribute to professional issues or program development.
2. ADMINISTRATION: Administrative responsibilities include major service assignments within a department or college.
3. RESEARCH (if applicable to this position): Appointment with an expectation for developing and conducting research and securing outside grant and contract funds for scholarly research activity. Responsible for budget, authorizing expenditures, and adjustments.
4. EDUCATION: Teaching responsibilities include time spent in the classroom, clinical setting, laboratory, or telecommunications courses and in immediate preparation for them. Maintains and improves competence in subjects being taught, prepares teaching materials, confers with students on course materials, directs dissertations, theses, and plan B papers. Directs individual, group studies and practical. Reviews written examinations and papers, evaluates artistic presentations, supervises independent study projects, and supervises or teaches clinical internships or programs. Professional peer review is an essential feature of effective teaching.
5. Participates actively as a member of the university community and on administrative committees, search committees, in university governance activities, and student advising.
