Senior Preformulation Scientist
Working for a CRO with a worldwide reach, we have a range of integrated services including drug discovery, early phase development and API manufacture. An new opportunity has arisen due a significant expansion and investment for permanent Senior PreFormulation Scientist. The role will involve the delivery of drug molecule innovation including Solid state, polymorphism, Pre- formulation development, Solubility studies and characterisation.
Main tasks and responsibilities: To provide technical expertise and formulation input into project development
• Execute experiments for screening and characterisation - Solid state, polymorphism, Pre- formulation development, Solubility studies
• To plan/design API solubility/compatibility experiments and write protocols,
• Characterisation of drug molecule using techniques like XRD, DVS, DSC, PSD TGA
• Keeping detailed and accurate records of all work undertaken and write internal and external technical reports to stakeholders
• Lead and influence Research formulation scientists in technical project design and commercial client delivery
• To communicate progress of projects effectively to senior managers and clients
• Project manage - scientific projects, client projects and technical updates.
The Candidate
• Ideally PhD, or MSc level qualification in pharmacy, chemistry, drug development and formulation related discipline
• Relevant work experience in Pre/formulation development in a variety of areas.
• Previous experience within a pharmaceutical, Specials or healthcare environment
• Demonstrate experience and competency of delivering work with third party clients, managing commercial and technical expectations
• Demonstrate experience of operating in multi-disciplinary project teams
