Senior Technical Marketing Engineer

At Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology, we provide tools for the engineering of micro- and nano-structures, with customers using our process solutions to research and produce materials and semiconductors vital for everything from medical devices and diagnostics, to electric cars and quantum computers.

Your contribution will help us to win in the considerable and growing High Value Manufacturing (HVM) market. This is our ‘Lab + Fab’ strategy. Your insight will help us to bridge the technical gap between Applications Engineers and Marketing Specialists to ensure we communicate, and then capture, the markets that will benefit from our solutions.

You will research and create marketing collateral to support our drive to deliver customer intimacy. The output will be clear and concise technical documentation which articulates the technical differentiators of our high-tech product range. You will support the promotion of our OIPT technology, brand and values through both online and offline channels.

Key Accountabilities Be the expert on the optoelectronics application area; an internal expert and external champion Sharing information externally (external champion) Work with all departments to produce, develop and maintain clear and concise technical documentation which clearly articulates the technical differentiators of our product range. Documentation is tailored to each stage of buyer s journey Produce white papers to promote our technology, brand and values through both online and off line channels such as webinar and workshop. Sharing info internally (internal expert) Produce, develop and maintain materials to ensure transfer of market understanding and focus on ‘Jobs to be Done’ (JTBD) Support our Application and Sales teams to drive and demonstrate market intimacy. Produce training documentation and deliver training to ensure the value of our brand and process solutions are understood and able to be conveyed by global Sales, Applications and Customer Service teams. Information/knowledge gathering Research, analyze and understand applications and their long-term trends in our market segment
Actively engage with customers at all stage of buyer’s journey to support VOC activity and develop an intimate understanding of our customers roadmap
Work with the Senior Product Management team to deliver market analysis relating to roadmap
Support R&D project submission for project resource justification. Competitors
Competitor intelligence – maintain a database of our competitors and key activity. Other activity
Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably required by Plasma Technology
Take personal responsibility for your health and safety and for that of others who may be affected by your actions and behaviour.

Professional Skills/Abilites :
The ability to research and analyse complex technical information
High levels of technical writing capabilities and an ability to understand the function and performance of products
Ability to communicate and have discussions at a technical level
Ability to carry out market analysis

Education/Qualifications:
Degree in Physics (prefrable)
Background in Optics and Electronics
Experiences in semiconductor technologies
Good customer and field experience.
