Product Manager - Engineering

At Plasma Technology, we provide tools for the engineering of micro- and nano-structures, with customers using our process solutions to research and produce materials and semiconductors vital for everything from medical devices and diagnostics, to electric cars and quantum computers.

You will be responsible for working with an external organisations and Plasma colleagues from around the world. You will own and drive the development and roadmap of assigned platform(s) to meet market and business needs. Your strong communication and influencing capability will help colleagues understand and be motivated to deliver for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Create, maintain own and drive the platform roadmap (including but not limited to development, improvement, CES, manufacturing, cost) and to keep the business informed of its content.
Maintain a professional awareness of industry standards, technical developments, competitor activity and other market trends in specific platform area.
Liaise with other parts of the business - including the platform teams - in order to deliver those developments within the product release schedule.
Be the point of contact for the business on issues relating to the platform.
Oversee and manage the creation and maintenance of all platform documentation.
Coordinate the efforts of the Platform team, working collaboratively with all departments to ensure a holistic platform approach across the business. Present progress of behalf of the team.
Prioritise all proposed initiatives and developments for the platform, either as lifecycle or NPI activities.
Ensure understanding and adherence to the platform roadmap by Commercial and Sales teams.
Take ownership of cost and margin for sales of your platform.
Share information and increase knowledge of your platform within Plasma; particularly within the platform team.
Promote a continuous improvement culture within Plasma, bringing together cross functional teams, process improvement techniques and training as required.
Represent the interests of all departments on issues relating to your platform.
Take personal responsibility for your own health and safety and for that of others who will be affected by your actions and behaviour.

Education/Qualifications:
Degree Qualified in relevant discipline, Postgraduate preferred

Professional Skills/Abilites:
An ability to quickly understand the necessary technical issues of relevant Semi-Conductor products is necessary.
Experience in a fast paced operations environment. E experience of new product introduction.

Presents self assertively, willing to challenge others appropriately and react positively to challenges to own thinking/judgement.

Being creative- Thinks ‘’outside the box’’ to derive different or imaginative solutions which support Oxford Instruments strategy and growth.
