At Oxford Instruments, we enable the world’s leading industrial companies and scientific research communities to image, analyse and manipulate materials down to the atomic and molecular level. Our customers use our NanoScience ultra-low temperature and high magnetic field environments to go beyond what was once thought possible, whether that’s creating Nobel Prize winning materials or developing quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems.
Can you stay one step ahead of the market? Would you like to be an integral part of developing new products and functionalities so that the NanoScience product range can fulfil the needs of our diverse customer base?
We are looking for a highly experienced Electronics Engineer to be involved with the conceptual design of new DC high-current supply circuit modules which integrate with our world-class systems and their applications.
The opportunity
In this role, as part of the NPI team, you will work closely with other functions; such as, software engineers, design engineering and manufacturing, in addition to working with our external partners; designing, evaluating, and testing prototype circuit boards, as well as managing quality. In addition to working on our magnet power supply modules and temperature controllers, we would like you to develop adjacent new products that will allow us to further meet the needs of our customers.
About You
It is likely that you will have a science or engineering degree, although this is not essential. It is essential that you have extensive experience working as an electronics engineer, most likely with laboratory grade programmable instruments and switch-mode power supplies. Experience in relevant tools and techniques is highly desirable, e.g. high-stability, high-precision circuits and four quadrant supplies. You will understand potential sources of noise and how to minimise those, as well as the ability to understand the requirements of our end-users and propose solutions that will achieve their goals.
Benefits
In addition to a competitive starting salary, Oxford Instruments offers flexible working hours and a half-day on Fridays, 25 days annual leave, private healthcare, a share incentive plan, a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan, and a flexible benefits package that you can tailor to your own requirements. #LI-JR1
