Business Manager, Birck Nanotechnology Center

Job Summary

Purdue University is looking for the right candidate to fill the role of Senior Business Manager for Birck Nanotechnology Center. The Business Manager will direct the management of the finances and business office support for Birck Nanotechnology department within Purdue Discovery Park with annual operating expenditures exceeding $7 million dollars. Serve as the resource/liaison for the Department to OEVPRP and central offices. Serve as the resource/liaison for the Department to the OEVPRP and central offices. Provide proper interpretation of University, Federal, State, and sponsoring agency policies and procedures. Collaborate closely with central business service operations and other related entities in meeting the strategic goals of the University. This position will play a key role in the preparation of financial and management reports to support long-range planning forecasts; budget recommendations, planning, and analysis; and financial analysis and strategic financial management of departmental resources. Serve as mentor and key resource person to peers within Business Office. Maintain a unit that provides excellent business management support to Department Heads, Directors, faculty, staff and students.

Required:


Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related field of study In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience. Two (2) years of business administration, financial management, or related experience Supervisory experience Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, leadership, budgeting, financial analysis, problem-solving, organizational, project management, and customer service skills Ability to influence and build strong working relationships at all levels Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures Ability to foster a participatory supervisory style that utilizes collaboration and teamwork to successfully guide the work of others Learning orientation toward changing technology impacting business processes Proficient in following software: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook



Preferred:


Six credit hours of accounting coursework Prior leadership experience
