Salary Information
Department Summary The UNT Biomedical Engineering Department is in a growth phase, having hired five faculty in the past two years. Our department has a strong culture of interdisciplinary research collaboration, with specific strengths in nanotechnology, advanced biotechnology, genetic engineering, biopolymers and tissue engineering.
New faculty would be expected to add research diversity in one or more of the following areas: computational biomedical engineering applied to biotechnology/neuro-engineering/neuroscience; AI in biomedical engineering, among others.
Position Summary We are looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit who can help grow a young department around his or her research interests. The UNT Biomedical Engineering Department is dedicated to creating a climate that values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we welcome applications from people of color, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
The candidate for the position in Biomedical Engineering is expected to teach BMEN undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research program funded by external sources, support and mentor graduate students, and provide service to the University and the profession.

An offer of employment for this position will be made dependent upon available funding.
Minimum Qualifications An earned doctorate in biomedical engineering or a closely related field.
For the Assistant Professor position, a strong publication record and the potential to succeed in securing research funding and mentoring graduate students are required.
For the Associate Professor position, a sustained record of providing mentoring to junior faculty, advising graduate students, providing service to the University and profession, and securing external funding for research activities with current research funding, are also required.
Preferred Qualifications Post-doctoral research experience or industrial research experience is preferred.
