PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Frederick National Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. The lab addresses some of the most urgent and intractable problems in the biomedical sciences in cancer and AIDS, drug development and first-in-human clinical trials, applications of nanotechnology in medicine, and rapid response to emerging threats of infectious diseases.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, person who wants to develop their career further in Human Resources. The HR Assistant I/II will be responsible for administrative functions within the Human Resources Directorate. Duties would include:

Preparing candidate offer letters and coordinating onboarding of new hires
Managing mail for the Directorate
Processing referral bonuses and related notifications
Answering calls for the general HR phone number
Managing the drug screening process and employment/education checks
Applying and communicating policies and procedures related to HR
Providing support to other team members on special projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

This is a dual level requisition. It may befilled at either a HR Assistant I or HR Assistant II leveldepending on the years of relevant experience and education.

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

HR Assistant I level:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
No work experience required with a high school diploma
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

HR Assistant II level:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
In addition to the education requirement, a minimum of two (2) years of related experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS for both levels:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources
Experience working within a high-volume HR department
Experience working with an applicant tracking system
