Part-Time Marketing Associate

AIChE, founded in 1908, is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. Its members work in corporations, universities, and government, using their knowledge of chemical processes to develop safe and useful products for the benefit of society. AIChE fosters and disseminates chemical engineering knowledge, assists the professional and personal growth of its members, and applies the expertise of its members to address societal needs and improve the quality of life. Through its varied programs, AIChE continues to be a focal point for information exchange on the frontiers of chemical engineering research in such areas as energy, sustainability, biological and environmental engineering, nanotechnology, and chemical plant safety and security.


The AIChE Marketing team is responsible for the discovery, design, development, and delivery of AIChE’s marketing initiatives, working closely with cross-functional groups within AIChE. The Part-Time Marketing Associate will develop and execute multiple marketing initiatives for at least one of our communities. The successful individual will be passionate, creative and exhibit a broad range of marketing, research, and communications skills. The ideal team member will have experience in working in a fast-paced environment; writing marketing messaging and proofreading; communicating ideas and actions clearly and concisely; executing digital marketing (such as email, social media, and retargeting) and traditional marketing initiatives; understanding how to use and read analytics to measure the effects of campaigns, and efficiently working with outside vendors.


Responsibilities


The Part-Time Marketing Associate will achieve the following objectives:


Developing and executing marketing campaigns and tactics in line with organization objectives, such as: Digital marketing (social, email, retargeting, website) Traditional marketing (direct mail, print ads) Production (working with the creative team, printer, mail house, promotion execution) Implementing projects and campaigns to support virtual and in-person conferences, education (webinars, eLearning courses, and other courses), membership, and other product areas Writing and proofreading marketing messages for various communications, such as emails, website, print, and digital marketing channels Collaborating with cross-functional departments to discuss campaigns, initiatives, and results Liaising with vendors and strategic partners Helping develop and execute surveys and other research projects Maintaining marketing plans and calendars Helping to research industry & association trends, competitive products, innovations, and best practices to identify and recommend implementable growth opportunities Providing data to help develop reports and presentations

Software Proficiencies


MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams Social and content management platforms Email marketing tools Google Analytics and Google eCommerce Project management (PM) tools Survey technology knowledge such as Qualtrics and Survey Monkey SmartSheet a plus

Educational Work Experience Requirements


Undergraduate degree and/or graduate degree in marketing 3-6 years of relevant experience Experience in volunteer-led, or science and engineering organizations is a plus Experience in event and webinar marketing
