ReCode Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company developing precision genetic medicines for pulmonary diseases with significant unmet medical need. WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Nanoparticle Formulation Sr. Scientist and Team Leader is responsible for driving results in a fast-paced environment by leading and coordinating the activities of the discovery research formulations group. These activities include design of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations to support internal and external discovery research efforts, utilizing in vitro and in vivo model systems, technology platform development, characterization of the formulations, and formulations technical transfer to product development team. The candidate should have extensive experience with lipid-based formulation design, ideally including nucleic acid-based payloads including mRNA, siRNA, and DNA. Knowledge of materials science, nanotechnologies for formulation design, nucleic acids, and general pharmaceutical product R&D is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and prepare novel formulations as part of a transdisciplinary team
Implement rigorous analytical testing and criteria for all formulations
Manages discovery formulation team and work flows to meet project timelines
Interact closely with colleagues on conducting formulation evaluation, POC, efficacy studies
Work with external collaborators and partners
Communicate effectively with internal team to develop project plans and provide updates on status
Work closely with management to define scope of work, provide technical evaluation, and resources required for projects
Develops and implements key strategic procedures
Attracts, develops, and retains a high performing team to meet the current and evolving needs of the business through effective selection, training and development, coaching and mentoring and performance management
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. with 5+ years of laboratory experience (formulation development, nanoparticles, nucleic acids, drug delivery, in vitro / in vivo assays)
Strong foundation in chemistry, materials science, bio-engineering, chemical engineering, or related field
3+ years of industry experience that includes direct team management, project management
Strong oral and written communication skills to support internal and external communications/presentations
