Postdoctoral Research Fellow

How to Apply

A cover letter is required for consideration for this position and should be attached as the first page of your resume. The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position.

Summary

A postdoctoral position is available in the Michigan Nanotechnology Institute for Medicine and Biological Sciences (MNIMBS) and the Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center. We are seeking a full-time postdoctoral research fellow to study the immunological mechanisms of adjuvants in promoting protective vaccine responses towards viral and bacterial pathogens. The major goal of our research is to develop targeted adjuvants which elicit tailored responses to specific diseases including influenza and SARS-CoV-2 such that improved vaccines promoting broad, durable and potent immunity can be developed for use in young and elderly populations. Through better understanding the interactions between adjuvants with immune effectors we also apply this work in other disease systems including food allergy. We are seeking enthusiastic applicants that can independently conduct research as well as work in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. The postdoctoral fellow will report directly to Drs. Pamela Wong and James Baker, Jr. The initial appointment is for two years with opportunity for extension.
