Job Description:
To perform highly skilled and technical work in the operation, repair and maintenance of specialized equipment related to scientific research in and out of the MRC clean room. Train and certify new users on several specialized semiconductor tools.

Job Details:
The mission of the Microelectronics Research Center (MRC) at the University of Texas at Austin, is to perform education, research and development in materials and electronic devices. MRC is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI).

MRC is part of the top-ranked Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department, which is the largest department in the Cockrell School of Engineering with more than 2,100 students and 74 tenured and tenure-track faculty. Responsibilities

Perform skilled installation, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of cleanroom and laboratory equipment.

Perform journey level installation, troubleshooting, repair and modification of facilities equipment.

Perform equipment training to new users for cleanroom and laboratory equipment.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 3 years of experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting of laboratory and cleanroom equipment.

At least 3 years of experience maintaining HVAC, Plumbing and/or electrical equipment.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and verbal work-related instructions from supervisors, customers, and co-workers.

Experience with personal computers, including Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

More than three years of experience in the required fields above.

Direct experience in support of a class 100 cleanroom.

Salary Range

$45,000 + depending on qualifications
