A postdoctoral position in cell biology, especially mitochondrial function and biogenesis, is available at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Department of Dermatology, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA. We seek a highly motivated and qualified candidate with a Ph.D or Ph.D/MD to investigate specific biomarkers that can monitor mitochondrial functions and metabolism in association with muscle cell differentiation and strengths.
The candidate will also have a chance to work with other fellows in the Wu Laboratory in the research fields of universal influenza vaccines, laser-based antimicrobe technology, and photobiomodulation-mediated regeneration (please see recent publications in Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Materials Today, Science translational medicine, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and Nature Communications from our lab). Massachusetts General Hospital is a major Boston teaching hospital and teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. The postdoctoral fellow will be appointed at the Harvard Medical School and have access to a range of training opportunities available via both MGH and HMS. Salary will be according to NIH guidelines.
Requirements: The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D or Ph.D/MD degree with strong background in cell biology and molecular biology demonstrated by strong publications. Preference will be given to an individual who can work independently and is able to write manuscript and scientific reports at a high level. The position also requires extensive experience in working with animals.
