Architectural Designer

Summary


DPS Group is growing our design team in Hillsboro, OR and looking for experienced Architectural Designers, preferably with advanced technology tool installation project experience. In this role, you will be an integral part of the engineering design group, working alongside a multidiscipline engineering design team and project managers in performing technical design and specification. As an Architectural Designer your primary responsibilities will include supporting the design and planning process for multi-faceted production facilities and the production and coordination of architectural construction documents. Experience in advanced technology/semiconductor manufacturing facilities and tool install design is highly desirable.


Will consider remote candidates with directly related experience in semiconductor facilities and tool install design. Must be located in the US, and able to work on PST time zone schedule.



Responsibilities


Identifying deliverables, defining requirement, and creating design drawings. Develop layouts while working in tandem with project managers and engineers on multiple projects simultaneously. Ensure all activities are in full compliance to Client Standard Operating Procedures and Policies. Intermediate knowledge of technical applications of building materials. Research building materials and construction detailing for correct applications. Responsible for coordination and multidiscipline clash checking. Implements the development of presentations and construction documentation. Intermediate understanding, interpretation and compliance of zoning and building codes and contract documentation coordination. Successfully interacts with the multi-disciplinary design team and follows direction of senior architectural team members for high technology facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications, and procedures. Monitor QA/QC for Architectural components. Space management for discipline and coordination with other stakeholders. Responsible for conducting and documenting lessons learned process and other improvement initiatives upon completion of project(s). Able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, cut-resistant gloves, and other PPE as required per the requirements of clients’ safety policies when required. Other duties as assigned.


Skills and Qualifications


Minimum 3-5 years of architectural experience working in industrial project environments. Cleanroom design experience for semiconductor, nanotechnology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and/or laboratory projects preferred. Proven experience supporting advanced technology (semiconductor tool install) projects is highly advantageous. Background in architectural drafting and design (Associates degree minimum preferred), preferably supporting high-tech facilities projects. Degreed and licensed Architects also considered. Must be design oriented with excellent graphical skills. Strong knowledge and experience with Revit and AutoCAD are required along with the willingness and ability to perform production design work. Sketch up, and other 3D software experience a plus. Good report and technical writing skills desired with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have proven track record of assembling contract documents. Must have excellent written and communication skills and be well organized, engaged, flexible and self-motivated. Experience interfacing with clients and coworkers, and delivering presentations, with the ability to maintain a professional and productive relationship. Demonstrating good interpersonal skills, being attentive and approachable is a must. Ability to multitask on multiple projects and work independently. Takes ownership of assignments, can work both independently and as part of the team. Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative. Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills (English). Local candidates preferred. Will entertain relocation or remote option for candidates with directly related experience. Must be able to work in the PST time zone schedule. Ability to provide valid work authorization for US employment.
