Senior Electronics Engineer

Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer Location: Malvern, UK Remote Working: Up to 3 days per week (part of this role will include being on-site to liaise with the R&D team on commencing/forthcoming projects) Duration: Full Time Hours: 37.5 (This role operates in a flexi-time scheme. About R&D


Malvern Panalytical's R&D function drives business growth by delivering customer-focused products and services to a wide variety of markets. The Center of Excellence development site in Malvern, UK, is responsible for developing products and solutions within our Physical characterisation portfolio. Projects range from small incremental improvements and optimisations to next generation and are represent the cutting edge of multi-discipline engineering.


The Role


You will be responsible for developing, innovating, and improving electronic designs with particular attention to customer needs.


Responsibilities, anyone?


As an experienced Electronics Engineer, you’ll work within a dynamic cross-discipline team to scope, design and develop electronic solutions. As a senior engineer, you will line manage a small team of electronics engineers and support their development.


What do you need to be successful in this role?


Electronic Engineering degree, or equivalent. Design of microcontroller and FPGA-based instrumentation and control electronics, including sensor interfaces, dc-dc regulators, and small actuator drives. Experience of simulation and testing methodologies using tools, such as SPICE, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and by writing test software in C/C++/C#. Professional ECAD experience (Altium Designer preferred). A willingness to lead teams and experience of mentoring junior engineers. Experience working alongside 3rd party development partners / design houses and managing projects in a technical capacity. A proven track record of working in multi-disciplinary team environments. Experience of design for manufacture, assembly, and test.

Experience of digital hardware design using VHDL would be useful Knowledge of EMC and safety standards Ability to evaluate development decisions in the wider business context. A positive can-do attitude!
