Junior Architectural Technologist

Joining the Advanced Facilities team means being part of a team that have delivered innovative solutions for diverse technically demanding projects for over 30 years. Our multi professional design team are involved from initial concept stages, through design and tendering, to commissioning and handover of advanced technology projects including data centres, electronics, life sciences, nanotechnology, electric vehicle battery/ manufacturing facilities and research laboratories.


You will be part of a highly collaborative and agile team, delivering cutting edge solutions to world leading clients. Due to continued growth, we are seeking Architectural Technologists interested in developing a career in a rewarding and forward-looking industry.


Working in a project-based environment you will bring design/ software experience as well as drive, enthusiasm, and the ability to work on your own initiative.

Responsibilities:


Production of 2D and 3D design drawings and specifications to deliver advanced technology building projects. Collaborate with internal & external design teams to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard. Provide a positive contribution to design/project meetings. Undertake site-based inspections and surveys at client sites, including undergoing any necessary training e.g. CSCS or client specific training. Effective management of own time, work and programme for allocated tasks, ensuring that information used is current and suitably recorded. Assist line manager with identifying and implementing your personal training, development and CPD requirements. Assist implementing and managing QA systems and procedures on all projects where appropriate. Strive to meet stringent deadlines, maintaining desired quality levels of output. Understand and implement Jacobs Environmental, Health and Safety, and Commercial policies and standards. Here’s What You’ll Need:
Higher Education qualification (HND / Degree) in Architectural Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 6 months experience within a practice/ organisation including live project experience. Experience using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software is required. Experience of specification writing is desirable. Knowledge of Building Regulations and Technical Standards. Clear and precise written and verbal communication skills. Able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
