Luna Labs’ Biotech Group is committed to addressing critical technical challenges in modern healthcare. This team of biomedical engineers, molecular biologists, materials scientists, chemists, and biophysicists drive advancements in medical technology through close partnerships with clinicians and external researchers. We work in fields as diverse as wound healing, clinical diagnostics, medical simulation, and drug and vaccine delivery. The work is fast-paced, collaborative, and focused on solving critical global healthcare needs.

The Biotech Group is currently searching for an Associate Scientist with experience in chemistry, biochemistry, drug and vaccine delivery, and biological detection/diagnostic device development, or related. The candidate should have significant hands-on experience in polymer and nanomaterial synthesis, bioconjugation, and crosslinking chemistry. They must be proficient with several analytical techniques including dynamic light scattering (DLS), Zeta potential analysis, spectroscopy, FTIR, and related. The preferred candidate will also have significant experience with drug release monitoring, protein and nucleic acid immobilization and characterization, and quantification of biological macromolecules using LC-MS, ELISA, PCR, and DNA/protein gel analysis.

The candidate should have previous experience working on multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously, and have a demonstrated ability to multitask, troubleshoot, optimize protocols and write scientific summaries of work. The candidate will contribute to multiple research and development efforts in Luna’s Biotech Group, and be responsible for carrying out experimentation, preparing and analyzing data, developing protocols and plans in response to results, and preparing write-ups and presentations on experimental efforts.
