Position Information The School of Pharmacy invites resumes for a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position with full benefits. UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America’s most beautiful campuses. The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions currently consists of the following departments: Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, and Rehabilitation Services. The UMES College of Pharmacy has been approved by the Maryland Board of Regents and obtained full accreditation since 2013.
Responsibilities Contributes to the research activities of Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty members including designing and performing experiments, analyzing data, and preparing research results for publication. Operates under the supervision of a Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty members, Pharmaceutical Lab for pharmacy and graduate students including preparation of stock material and supplies, Supervises and assists students as they conduct experiments (such as the compounding of pharmaceuticals); and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures in accordance with University policy. Opportunities are available to teach and facilitate student learning for pharmacy and graduate students in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Molecular Biology, and Pharmacy Calculations. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications PhD or M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent discipline. In-depth knowledge and understanding of cellular and molecular biology. Experience in laboratory and biohazard management.
Preferred Qualifications Three years of experience in teaching in a pharmacy student lab. Publication in the field of neuronal cell culture, RNA isolation, quantitative PCR/RT-PCR, protein extraction, Western Blot, immunofluorescent assays. Experience in chromatin immunoprecipitation, HPLC, GC/MS, syntheses of nanomaterials, etc. Certification of laboratory biosafety and responsible conduct of research such as Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative certificate.
