Precision NanoSystems Inc. (“PNI”) is a manufacturer of instruments, kits and reagents in the global nanomedicine market providing tools for drug development and cell-specific delivery to study, diagnose and treat disease. PNI’s NanoAssemblr family of instruments allow scientists to rapidly develop novel nanomedicine drug candidates for pre-clinical testing. PNI’s NanoAssemblr Scale-up platform enables the translation of these drug candidates to clinical testing and eventually to commercial use. Position Summary

The Field Application Scientist supports the sales team to sell Precision NanoSystems Inc. products through joint and individual sales calls, lead qualification, seminars, trade shows and user meetings. They provide technically sound and detailed presentations of PNI technology at promotional venues and high-level scientific meetings. The individual can also provide optimal pre-sales information, product/application demonstration and post-sales support. The Field Application Scientist supports sales representatives for base business maintenance and grows key accounts in the sales territory.

Areas of Responsibility

Pre-sales: Play an active role within the commercial team, to promote new products, prospect key accounts, qualify leads and develop opportunities, contribute to team spirit, and improve account penetration. Attend and support trade shows and conferences. Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.

Develop a solid understanding of PNI products and services, a detailed understanding of applications used by our customer base, as well as a strong working knowledge of the features and benefits of competitive products. Sustained evaluation or awareness of competitor activities and innovations within the marketplace generally. Develop a solid understanding of funding, market dynamics & end-user needs. Provide/facilitate efficient communication on strategic and driven customer feedback to Marketing and Product Development teams.

Conduct on‐site and in‐house customer training courses. Provide technical sales support by conducting applications‐based seminars and product demonstrations. Provide applications / technical training to the sales team.

Provide phone, email, and in‐person customer applications support, including troubleshooting issues related to user's technical skills, application, software and instruments. Interpret customer needs and identify if the responsibility for a problem resolution falls to sales personnel, engineering, or other company personnel.

Assist in the creation and review of technical materials (manuals, application notes, presentations).

Manage proof‐of‐principle experiments for potential customers who are evaluating and/or writing grant applications for instrument purchases.

Conduct new product evaluation/testing with R&D and beta test sites.

Create and maintain support information in the company enterprise database (CRM).

Coordinating new installations, including facility inspections, instrument validation, and customer training as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

MSc./Ph.D. with strong nanoparticle formulation or cell / molecular biology or equivalent background is preferred.

3‐5 years of hands‐on experience in a nanoparticle formulation, drug delivery, or cell biology lab is required. Skilled in troubleshooting instrumentation, and applications.

Demonstrated superior problem solving and interpersonal and account management skills in a commercial environment.

Demonstrated proficiency towards the selling process and a proven team player.

Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship management skills.

Strong communication skills and experience delivering scientific presentations. Demonstrated written technical writing ability.

Must be results and success-oriented with a proven ability to organize, develop, and follow through on tasks and plans.

Prior field experience supporting customers and sales teams in a technical role are preferred. A clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Availability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Valid Driver’s license and a vehicle is required.
