Established in 1828, the University of Central Lancashire is a leading modern University located in the city of Preston. The School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences, which also includes Medicine and Dentistry. The School offers several undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare related degrees including the Master of Pharmacy, accredited BSc Biomedical Sciences and a suite of MSc courses. We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics, who will be the MSc course leader responsible for the development of the newly approved MSc in Nanomedicine. The applicant will also have a significant role in the delivery, course management and course development of the MPharm at UCLan.
The motivated and enthusiastic applicant will hold a BSc/MSc in a appropriate discipline and a PhD in Pharmaceutics or related area and have experience of teaching Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy in higher education and ideally will have some industrial experience. AFHEA, FHEA or higher is also essential.
The applicant will be aware of the GPhC course accreditation requirements for the MPharm and will have a significant role in implementing the new standards for education of Pharmacists in our curriculum. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate level teaching in the areas of chemistry, pharmacokinetics, regulatory affairs and nanomedicine.
Excellent communication skills, involvement in delivery and co-ordinating teaching, a strong record of academic leadership and research and the ability to work in a team are essential for this position.
