Intrado’s Life & Safety division is responsible for some critical parts of our everyday life. Our solutions are responsible for everything that happens after a 9-1-1 call is placed – call routing, delivery, location determination and data management. Whether you call from a landline, cell phone or text 9-1-1, we make sure first responders get the right information at the right time so they can save lives.
As a Web developer with Intrado, you will be responsible for leading a variety of tasks related to the development and maintenance of company website; install, configure and maintain assigned Content Management System (CMS); Set up and configure, or work with internal resources to setup and configure, web servers using appropriate language and platform ensuring all necessary modules are present for site to function; create databases, configure server from the ground up and perform basic Linux administration tasks, ensuring server is capable of supporting sites in a pre-production state; perform search engine optimization techniques utilizing index tools and search engine analytics to keep the site high-ranking
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Web Development, Design and Maintenance-
Install, configure and maintain assigned Content Management System (CMS) (e.g., WordPress, etc.) Migrate working websites from one server to another ensuring there is no data loss Set up and configure, or work with internal resources to setup and configure, web servers using appropriate language and platform (e.g., MySQL, Apache, php, etc.) ensuring all necessary modules are present for site to function Create databases, configure server (e.g., Apache, etc.) from the ground up and perform basic Linux administration tasks, ensuring server is capable of supporting sites in a pre-production state Develop and implement web applications to support company products Perform search engine optimization techniques utilizing index tools and search engine analytics to keep the site high-ranking
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
Education
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, MIS, or a related field or a Programming Certificate from a recognized institution is required Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, MIS, or a related field is preferred Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years increasingly responsible web design or web programming required
Technical
Minimum 3 years experience with PHP, Strict XHTML, CSS and required
Based on departmental need, one or more of the following may be required
Minimum 2 years experience with Flash and ActionScript required Minimum 3 years experience with WordPress required Minimum 3 years experience with JavaScript required Minimum 1 year experience with Linux server administration required
Based on departmental need, the following may be preferred
Basic knowledge of terminal-based text editor (e.g., nano, pico, ed, vim, vi, etc.) Basic knowledge of interfacing PHP applications with .NET web services Intermediate knowledge of multimedia integration with website and Macintosh platform Intermediate knowledge of common Linux tools (e.g., ssh, sftp, less, sed, grep with bash, tcsh, zsh, etc.) Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Soundbooth, Premier Pro and/or Final Cut Pro
Other
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
