As Lead Scientist, you connect science and business to uncover and develop new testing capabilities, applications, and markets. You work closely with both academic and industrial scientists to directly support their research, product development and commercialization. The position is located in Ashland, VA and focuses on Surface characterization including nano-indentation, atomic force microsopy and tribology. Anton Paar USA offers full benefits, profit sharing bonuses, and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.
Responsibilities include: Discover needs, evaluate potential, and develop new applications and markets.Initiate collaborations and research projects to develop new solutions.Develop strategies and provide subject matter expertise.
Skills and qualifications you will need: Ph.D. (physics, engineering, or chemistry) or equivalent combination of experience and education.10+ years of relevant experience including 5 years outreach and activity in industrial research.Strong written and oral communication, presentation and project management skills.Ability to communicate with top-level scientist with expertise.Availability for frequent overnight travel (up to 50%).Valid driver's license and passport.Candidates fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are preferred.
