Extrusion Technician

LOCATION: Cleveland, OH

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:


Support film extrusion equipment operation and set-up.


Troubleshooting.


Providing recommendations and implementing solutions to resolve equipment and/or process problems in a timely manner.


Application of sound principles to drive improvements in tooling, production, processing, and equipment in a continuous and timely manner.


Ensure machines are functional and safe to operate.


Report safety problems immediately and operate equipment safely.


Write and revise SOPs.


Support or own work orders, deviations, and audit observations for equipment activities.


Maintain quality on parts being produced and report any quality problems.


Perform 5S activities.


Perform all material handling functions (raw materials and finished goods).


Control flow of materials using standardized work.


Avoid passing defects to next process.


Report daily line problems and countermeasures.


Meet daily production levels.


Determine correct shipping and receiving requirements.


WHAT IS REQUIRED:


Demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply new skills, concepts, and applications.


Flexible and capable of adapting to change.


High School/GED - Technical Certificate or higher preferred


Ability to handle up to fifty (50) pounds with physical dexterity to assemble and operate test equipment.


5+ years of experience in manufacturing, plastics processing experience preferred.


Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.


Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.


Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Ability to maintain charts, graphs, and production reports.


Ability to perform basic math and measurements and to gauge parts if needed.


Ability to understand production goals and associated documentation.


Ability to ensure compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures, and practices and all local, state, federal and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
