Optical Scientist - Waveguide Design (PhD)

Join the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world.We are currently seeking innovative scientists for next generation diffractive waveguide development for AR display application. Successful candidates should have a strong background of physical optics, diffractive optics, be comfortable navigating in a dynamic cross-functional team and have strong communication ability.


Deliver diffractive waveguide design for new product concepts. Support the development of new waveguide technology. Build collaborative relationships both internally and externally to support new concept initiatives, technology transfer and product prototyping.


Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in the field of optical sciences, physics, electrical engineering or related field. Experience in optical design using standard design software such as Virtual Lab, FRED, LightTools, Zemax, or CODE V. Experience in scientific programming and data analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python, etc.). Proven understanding of wave optics, geometric optics, polarization, etc. Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.


Experience in designing, engineering or building diffractive optics, hologram or other nano-optics components. Hands on experience in set up optical systems, e.g. interferometer, holography exposure system, etc.
