Scientist I, Bioanalytical

Job Description Summary:

The Scientist I, Bioanalytical will use cutting edge analytical techniques, with a focus on mass spectrometry, to identify new biological targets, verify compound engagement and ascertain pharmacodynamic effects across the PTC Therapeutics pipeline. The candidate will join a diverse team employing multi-omics approaches to interrogate systems level biological changes associated with genetic and/or disease phenotypes.

The Scientist I, Bioanalytical is responsible for planning and performing scientific experiments that contribute to PTC’s research and drug discovery activities. The incumbent works cross-functionally with internal departments, and external resources as appropriate, as part of PTC’s discovery science project teams.

The Scientist I, Bioanalytical supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate. Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

With guidance from the advisor plans, initiates, directs and executes scientific research and experiments and interprets and communicates results as part of multi-disciplinary team(s). This includes performing analyses of primary research literature.

Perform global multi-omics ( e.g. metabolomic, proteomic, transcriptomic, genomic, etc . ) analyses to aid in elucidating the genotypic and phenotypic heterogeneity of rare diseases.

Create and optimize quantitative biomarker assays using both LC-MS/MS techniques ( i.e. MRM or PRM) and immunoassays ( i.e. MSD, Quanterix, or Ella platforms).

Develop new and improve upon existing sample preparation procedures in biofluids, tissues, and cellular systems to conduct multi-omics analyses from a single specimen.

Integrate and visualize high-density datasets to track changes in dynamic biological systems.

Presents findings internally to cross-functional teams.

May Participate in the development and writing of patent applications
