Assistant Professor in Bioengineering

The Department of Bioengineering at the University of California Merced invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering with focus on Biomolecular Engineering and Biotechnology. The Assistant Professor will work on the manipulation, engineering, and design of biomolecular components (proteins, nucleic acids, lipids), cellular components and cells for novel applications in biotechnology that address scientific and engineering issues of high societal impact related to human health, energy, and the environment.


We are specifically interested in applicants who develop approaches and applications within the following areas:

Qualifications Basic qualifications Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biochemical engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering or related science and engineering fields (preferred by July 1, 2021, must be conferred by June 30, 2021). Demonstrated record of research. Preferred qualifications Applicants are expected to have demonstrated potential for excellence in research.
