JOB TITLE: Fabricator
Summary: Under general supervision with minimal to no assistance, performs a variety of fabrication duties. Position requires knowledge of practices and procedures of the function.
Essential Duties:
Comprehend and follow blueprints in accordance with required specifications Working from blueprint, sketches or written or verbal instructions, plan and layout raw material, plates, angles, channels castings, tubing, pipe, etc. in accordance with specifications where close tolerance (+ or – 1/8") is required CNC Plasma, Water Jet, and Laser parts from steel using CNC burning machines is a plus. Clean and deburr parts as instructed, EX. grind, wire brush, drill press Perform minor adjustments to machines as needed Use mathematical formulas (algebra, geometry, trigonometry) and equipment such as scales, squares, calipers, micrometers, etc. to verify templates and work, layout hole locations, center points, angles and contours. Crosstrain and train other fabricators/employees as necessary Perform rigging, lifting and moving of product using cranes, forklifts, metal carts etc. Comprehend and follow ISO procedures to ensure compliance with the standard Must know, understand, and abide by all plant safety rules and regulation Must be able to operate an assortment of fabrication machinery or equipment, i.e. shears, nibblers, press brakes, pneumatic punches, roll formers, benders, drill press, etc. Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures Proficient shop math and measurement skills Reading and interpretation of blue prints/drawings Able to work overtime as required
Experience:
At least 1 year fabricating in a manufacturing environment including sheet metal fabrication, Roll formers, press brake
