Production Engineer / Machine Operator


Paraclete Energy is growing and needs committed and capable production engineers / machine operators to join our team that is responsible for making nanoparticle silicon powders.


Paraclete is seeking production engineers / machine operators with at least two years of industrial experience. This job includes operating various types of laboratory and production equipment at the Chelsea, Michigan facility. In addition to operating the equipment, this position also involves maintaining the process equipment as needed and described in machine manuals. The products being made are nano and micron sized powders. Therefore, familiarity with handling different chemicals, including powders and solvents, is a plus. The candidates must be able to maintain records of trials and production runs, being proficient in Office programs, especially MS Excel and MS Word. The candidates will be able to propose process improvements where feasible.


The ideal candidates will have some level of formal training or appropriate post high school education in engineering or engineering tech and at least 2 years of industrial experience. The candidates must be able to work with other members of the Paraclete team but also with minimum supervision and be familiar with the manufacturing processes.

The Position

The ideal candidates are experienced Production Engineers or Machine Operators with at least two years of industrial experience. The candidates must be able to operate various types of laboratory and production equipment. This job includes beyond operating the equipment also maintaining the process equipment as needed and as outlined in machine manuals. The product being made are nano and micron sized powders. Therefore, familiarity with handling different chemicals, including powders and solvents, is a plus. The role requires the candidates to be able to maintain records of trials and production runs and being proficient in Office programs, especially MS Excel and MS Word. The candidates will be able to propose process improvements where feasible.


The preferred candidates will have the engineering and technical skills combined with a positive attitude with a determination and capability to optimize conditions. The candidates will work with other Paraclete team members and have a fundamental attitude of ownership, accountability and responsibility.


Duties and Responsibilities


Making nano and micron powders Operate various types of laboratory and production equipment Maintaining the process equipment as needed and as outlined in machine manuals. Familiarity with handling different chemicals, including powders and solvents Maintaining records of trials and production runs Maintaining the production floor for required tools and chemicals inventory Working as a team player with minimal supervision.

Desired Experience


2 years of relevant industrial experience. Formal training or appropriate post high school education in engineering or engineering tech. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or process engineering. 1 year experience making nano and micron sized powders. Experience in dealing with nano-powders

Qualifications


2 years of relevant industrial experience. Formal training or appropriate post high school education in engineering or engineering tech. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or process engineering. High School diploma with commensurate experience with machine operation within a chemical plant will be considered. Must have a positive attitude, passion, and teamwork skills Ability to think creatively and analytically. Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent cross-functional and teamwork skills. Able to work with minimal supervision as a team player Must be able and willing to lift 55 pounds, climb ladders and stairs
