Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in the consumer electronics as an optical engineer working on camera, illumination optics or diffractive optics system integration.
5+ years of experience in optical design, simulation, metrology, testing, assembly and system level performance validation.
Experienced in at least one of the following modelling software packages: LightTools, Zemax, Code V.
Experienced in mass production of optical devices, supporting test and validation during all manufacturing build phases (EVT/DVT/PVT).

This role:
Provide support for modelling and design for prototyping and manufacturing of Illumination and Lens components.
Work with component engineering team and product engineering team to provide rapid prototyping and characterization of optics or imaging systems.
Use software tools (LightTools, Zemax etc.) to model and characterize optical systems.
Experience with imaging optics, testing lab management, test setup design and implementation.
Work with cross-functional team to draft component specifications, design reviews, work with vendors to manufacture parts and validate results by specifying test parameters and methodologies.
Work within Operations, PD, HW and SW engineering teams to implement and optimize efficiency.
Bridge the gap with OEM partners by supporting development builds and production.
The candidate should be a strong effective communicator and needs to be independent, highly motivated individual.
Master's or Doctoral degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics.
Experience with design and development of optical systems requiring a combination of illumination, imaging, radiometry/photometry, holographic/diffractive optics, or nano-optics.
Understanding image quality and tuning’s algorithms/ firmware.
Experience in MATLAB programming.
Excellent spoken and written skills with great vendor management experience.
Ability to work independently and ensure timely and accurate communication with internal and external team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills.
