This position reports to the Director, Nanofabrication Core Lab at Saab ETIC. This individual will serve as the primary equipment installation and sustaining technician for the Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center (ETIC) Clean Room. This person will implement, with the Director, a preventive maintenance program for all equipment within the Nano lab and assist the Facilities Representative the coordination of maintenance to the ancillary support equipment i.e., monitor the D.I. water, waste water treatment and clean room integrity. This position requires participation in the emergency response team and maintenance of a certification as an “Emergency Responder”. Additionally, this person will also train users, coordinate daily operations and participate in ancillary projects as the required by the Nanofabrication Lab Director.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 5 years of experience or Associates degree in a technical discipline and 8 years of experience or a High School degree (or GED equivalent) and 10 years minimum experience 5 Years of hands on maintenance and troubleshooting experience The successful candidate must have demonstrated in past position(s) of similar responsibility an ability to provide effective project Availability and ability to remain on call 24/7 in cases of emergency Good verbal and written communication skills Due to the physical aspects and hazards associated with toxic materials and gasses associated with this position, the ability to wear Level A emergency turn out gear, SCBA, respirators, lift 60 pounds, good visual and hearing ability is required, If not certified as a hazardous materials responder, must successfully complete training courses within 120 days of employment Must have a valid Driver’s License and a willingness to drive between campuses and to off campus assignments
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of operating facilities for a high-hazard clean research / pilot facility set in an educational, research -oriented environment Waste Water Treatment License Level 2 or greater DOT and RCRA Certification Professional organization memberships such at AVS & IEEE
