Responsibilities: Operate and maintain nano-flow liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry (nano-LC-HRMS) instrumentation. Develop and validate of tandem MS-based analytical methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for discovery and targeted proteomics of complex antibody samples. Develop SOPs for LC-MS maintenance, operation and troubleshooting in a production setting. Collaborate with bioinformaticians and biologists to achieve technology milestones. Stay up to date on relevant literature in protein mass spectrometry, antibody discovery, and related areas. Communicate methods and results in presentations, publications, and posters. Contribute to our intellectual property portfolio. Required Skills: PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, or similar with 3+ years of post-graduate work in academia or industry. Experience designing and implementing in-solution and in-gel digestion approaches to enable workflows for discovery proteomics. Strong analytical and practical skills in protein sample preparation and nano-LC-HRMS for proteomic analysis. Experience with Orbitrap type instrumentation and in-depth knowledge of instrument calibration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance (i.e. Q-Exactive, Orbitrap Fusion Lumos, Orbitrap Eclipse). Experience with various standard in-solution and in-gel proteomic sample prep protocols for bottom-up proteomic workflows. Ability to pick up new technologies quickly and troubleshoot independently. Proven track record of independent critical thinking, scientific achievement, and the ability to interact creatively and collaboratively with relevant departments.
