Electrical Engineer II

Summary/Objective
Forge Nano Inc, a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets. The Engineering Team, responsible for the development and manufacturing of custom Atomic Layer Deposition Equipment, is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer II, reporting to the Engineering Product Manager. This position covers design, programming, testing and implementation of Forge Nano's automated equipment controls logic and circuitry.


Responsibilities


Source, layout, and design of PCBs per functional specification Collaborate with Product Owners to determine design basis and safe operating regimes of control systems Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to produce manufacturable and reliable control systems Program embedded controllers for reliable communication to sensors and/or master devices Specify and program PLC and/or PAC systems for large industrial machinery Debug and troubleshoot PCB or control panel prototypes Coordinate fabrication, assembly, and test of hardware systems Develop quality check procedures using measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, and source analyzers Work with Instrumentation Technician and Equipment Technicians to layout control panels and field wiring

Experience / Qualifications


BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or similar 2-5 years engineering experience in PCBA design, including production of schematics, component selection, physical track layout, and procurement of completed boards Experience or exposure to industrial control panel design Experience with Altium or other PCB layout software Familiarity with UL508A Standards Familiarity with CE Directives such as EMC and Low Voltage Experience with LabView is a plus Experience with industrial communication protocols such as ModBus is a plus Experience with C/C++, Verilog/HDL are a plus

Work Environment
This role is hybrid-remote with some periodic visits to Forge Nano headquarters required. In-person visits are required to debug systems, QC incoming materials, or other business needs requiring physical assistance. All engineering and design work can be performed remotely if desired.

The employee occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. At times, a respirator is required personal protective equipment to mitigate inhalation hazards. Employees are required to undertake and pass a respirator medical evaluation and annual respirator fit test.


Travel
Travel opportunities will be available for this position, but none are required.


Compensation


$85,000 – $95,000 Medical/dental/vision/disability and life insurance Company Holidays and PTO Flexible Spending Account, and 401(k) plan.
