Job Description


In this position you will be a member of the Eyepiece Process R&D team and will be heavily involved in R&D, engineering, and precision prototyping. This position will be responsible for running and maintaining existing precision manufacturing & process equipment and utilizing best practices to produce high-quality, R&D-level prototypes and assemblies. The candidate will assist engineers with execution of experiments and prototype production on precision manufacturing and process equipment, performing detailed inspection of completed work product using advanced microscopy techniques (optical microscopes, defect inspection, CMM, optical analysis instruments, etc.), and document and report results of experiment and process work. Candidates must be highly innovative and enjoy working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, dynamic and creative environment within a multi-disciplinary team.



Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position primarily works in a Class 100 cleanroom environment. The employee must be able to suit up and wear cleanroom attire for extended periods. The ability to operate equipment and diverse microscope and metrology tools is essential.


Required Qualifications:


Semiconductor/micro or Nano-fabrication or related experience, preferably in a clean room environment. Experience in using manual, semi-automated or automated tools and equipment. Experience operating diverse microscope and metrology tools including but not limited to optical microscopes. The ability to record process and run details in organized spreadsheets, communicate status. The ability to collect, summarize and communicate data accurately in detailed reports and regular updates.

Desired Qualifications:


Experience with Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) tools and processes. Experience with precision cutting and component process tools; AutoCAD viewing and editing, entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part design and build programs. Experience in photolithography, thin-films, optics and diverse materials processing. Constructs precision prototype parts by studying engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Experience operating diverse microscope and metrology tools including but not limited to CMM, ellipsometer, optical spectrometer, SEM. Ability to analyze data using statistical methods and tools (ie, JMP), compile data into reports and communicate data across teams. Ability to manually align prototypes and components by eye and/or with magnification and/or microscope assist. Experience interacting with vendors and process engineers on equipment installation, qualification and maintenance. Ability to initiate equipment maintenance with disciplined data collection and interpretation.

Education and Experience:


Associates degree with minimum 5 years experience or bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years experience.
