Job Description


The Nanodevices and Integrated System Lab (http://nano.ecs.umass.edu/) in Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the exciting field of artificial neural network hardware. This postdoc position will play a key role in high-quality, low-power mix-signal integrated circuits design for artificial neural network applications. It requires proficiency in CAD tools for design, simulation, and layout of integrated circuits and extensive experience in chip tape out and testing. The position also requires good communication skills in both verbal and written English and teamwork ability. Familiarity with machine learning optimization techniques is also desired.



Essential Functions


Conduct research in the area of integrated circuits design and applications in artificial neural networks. Publish research results in international archival peer-reviewed journals. Provide technical leadership to other junior graduate researchers. Assist in writing research proposals in order to secure extramural funding.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)


A Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields with expertise in mixed-signal integrated circuit design Proficiency in Cadence/Synopsys IC design tools with chip tape out and testing experience Demonstrated analytical skills, teamwork ability, and communication skills in both oral and written English Knowledge in machine learning and artificial neural networks
