Program Manager II

Location: Valley View, OH


Role Overview:
Peak Nano Optics has an opening for an experienced Program Manager to lead and coordinate customer (governmental and commercial) programs. Duties for this position will include:


The qualified candidate be in control of program budgets and resource allocations and must have the ability to work with a wide range of professionals across different disciplines (R&D, manufacturing, finance and business). The candidate must be detail oriented and drive the accomplishment of tactical milestones to reach project/program objectives while ensuring they are aligned with the company’s strategy. In addition, the ideal candidate will be involved in the development of new strategies and will also be responsible for the writing of program funding proposals. To be considered for this role, you will need at least a bachelor’s qualification and three years of experience in program/project management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.


Strong leadership: A program manager needs to be an effective leader to manage and motivate multiple project managers and teams.


Knowledge of finance: One of the most important aspects of program management is managing the program budget.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Program managers are required to work with people, whether it is senior management, the accounting department, project managers, project team members, or customers. They need to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and at various levels that often have differing viewpoints. Must have the ability to work well with a distributed team.


Organization: To successfully manage multiple projects and teams, a program manager needs excellent organizational and planning skills to ensure tasks are accomplished on schedule.


Strategic skills: A program manager needs to align a program’s goals with the organization’s goals and strategies at all times. In addition, program managers need to constantly formulate plans to keep programs within scope, budget and limited timeframes, which also requires strategic thinking.


Time management: Define the most efficient path to reach program goals and timelines, and ensure the team understand the requirements. This includes using your personal and team resources to achieve success.


Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical field is preferred.


Knowledge of tactical optical systems and their enhancement of weapons systems is valued.


3 years of project/program management experience required; 5 years of program management experience preferred; PMP certification is a significant advantage.


Must pass the pre-employment drug screen and the pre-employment background check.


This position must be a US citizen.
