Job Summary:


Tessera Therapeutics is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced scientist to fulfil the Principal Scientist/Associate Director of Proteomics role in our DMPK group. The candidate will develop, validate, and employ LC/MS based proteomics approaches to analyze biological samples and to discover biomarkers to support research, non-clinical, and clinical development programs for a variety of therapeutic indications. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and be willing to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced work environment.


Job Responsibilities


Develop, optimize, and validate LC-MS/MS methods for quantitation of proteins in various biological matrices including biofluids, tissues and cells. Design and execute proteomics experiments from sample preparation, LC-MS/MS operation to data analysis & interpretation. Build and lead a proteomics team to support gene writing platform research, non-Clinical, and clinical programs. Discover and validate potential biomarker for supporting preclinical and clinical programs. Establish, optimize, and maintain the workflow of proteomics studies. Manage external vendors to support development programs and platform work. Write proteomic reports and contribute to regulatory documents for IND/CTA filings. Provide maintenance, quality control and troubleshooting of Orbitrap mass spectrometer as well as HPLC/nano-LC systems.

Basic Qualifications:


PhD in a biological or related discipline e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical Science with 5+ years' industry experience after postdoc. Experience in both targeted and global proteomics is required. Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in proteomics sample preparation techniques such as immuno-protein/peptide enrichment and LC/MS based method development and data processing for protein characterization and quantification applications. Extensive experience in protein isolation and purification from cells, tissues, and biofluids. High level of proficiency in a variety of quantitative proteomics techniques -TMT, SILAC, label-free quantification approaches and peptide fragmentation methods. Proficiency of using one of Thermo Orbitrap mass spectrometers: Q Exactive series or Exploris series. Experience in using Xcalibur, Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, and BioPharma software. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to conduct multiple laboratory and project tasks efficiently. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Experience with downstream statistical and bioinformatics analysis is a plus.
